Bitcoin has recently surged to a new all-time high, climbing to around $123,000 at its peak and drawing significant attention from both retail and institutional investors.
Meanwhile, altcoins remain deeply undervalued, struggling to gain momentum as capital continues to flow primarily into Bitcoin. Many alternative cryptocurrencies have seen significant declines or flat price action, with some reaching their lowest levels in months. This growing gap between Bitcoin and the rest of the market underscores the current dominance of BTC and the cautious sentiment surrounding altcoins.
Does this mean that altcoins are dying?
This doesn’t mean altcoins have lost their potential. On the contrary, the coming autumn may mark a pivotal moment for the altcoin market. Historically, altcoins tend to surge after Bitcoin completes a strong rally and its dominance starts to decline. As profit-taking sets in for BTC, capital often rotates into undervalued altcoins, sparking what’s known as altcoin season.
Which altcoins to buy now?
I can share 2 altcoins that I currently hold in my portfolio and I’m buying more at the moment (this is not individual investment advice).
ONDO: The price of ONDO is trading around $0.90 as of July 15, 2025.
TWT: The price of TWT is trading at $0.7546 as of July 15, 2025.
Are altcoins a good investment in 2025?
Altcoins have strong investment potential in 2025 — particularly for investors who stay calm, think long-term, and stick to a well-planned strategy. Rather than chasing market trends or reacting emotionally, it’s smarter to buy altcoins when they’re undervalued and market sentiment is negative. Then, as prices climb and optimism returns, that’s the time to consider selling and locking in gains. The real edge lies in doing the opposite of the crowd.
When to sell in altcoin season?
In order to determine the right time to sell altcoins, it’s important to identify major support levels — areas on the chart where the price has previously attracted buyers and often reversed upward.
A good target price for selling ONDO could be $1.40, while for TWT, a reasonable level to consider selling might be around $1.50.
